Brellium Welcomes Dr. Ainsley MacLean, FACR as Strategic Advisor

As we expand to serve both sides of the healthcare equation, we’re bringing on experienced advisors across the industry who have seen what alignment between payers and providers actually looks like in practice.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Ainsley MacLean, MD, FACR as a strategic advisor.

In most of American healthcare, payer and provider processes are misaligned. Each manages its own documentation standards, audit processes, and compliance risk — separately, with little shared infrastructure and frequent conflict. Brellium exists to change that.

For providers, Brellium reviews every chart against payer requirements prior to billing, reducing administrative burden and catching issues before they become denials or clawbacks. For payers, Brellium will assist in detecting billing, coding and documentation issues to aid in revenue capture and audit support.

Our mission is to become the compliance solution that both payers and providers rely on as a shared source of truth — a standard where a Brellium-approved chart carries verifiable meaning for everyone involved in a clinical encounter. As we expand, we are partnering with experienced industry advisors who have seen such payer-provider alignment work at scale.

Dr. MacLean worked at Kaiser Permanente, one of the nation’s largest integrated care and coverage organizations, for nearly 14 years. Dr. MacLean served as Kaiser Permanente's first Chief AI Officer for the Mid-Atlantic region, where she co-led the largest generative AI ambient scribe deployment in healthcare and drove AI-enhanced clinical decision support tools for over 12 million lives.

Dr. MacLean directly witnessed how shared incentives between payers and providers produce better clinical documentation, fewer administrative delays, and stronger patient outcomes — the same outcomes Brellium is designed to support at scale.

“Ainsley grew her career inside an integrated model where payers and providers share a mission rather than a dispute. That experience is directly aligned to where Brellium is headed, and we are glad to have her counsel as we build toward it,” said Zach Rosen, CEO, Brellium.

Brellium has already certified over 12 million patient visits, vetting 240 million unique compliance data points against payer requirements across 100+ health plans nationwide. Dr. MacLean's insights will help guide our next launches to ensure product integrations improve care quality for everyone.

“Payers and providers have managed documentation that supports accurate coding and compliance activities in isolation for too long, and beneficiaries of care are often caught in the middle,” said Dr. Ainsley MacLean. “Brellium has the data, the track record of provider adoption, and the infrastructure to change that dynamic for both sides. I am thrilled to be working with Brellium on this important mission.”

Dr. MacLean currently serves as the founding general partner of private equity firm Ainsley Capital and is the founding partner of Ainsley Advisory Group, a healthcare AI advisory firm specializing in go-to-market strategy for AI-focused technology companies seeking to scale across health systems.

Dr. MacLean is a fellow of the American College of Radiology, a member of the Forbes Technology Council, and a member of the advisory board of the American Board of AI and Medicine. She holds degrees from Brown University and Brown Medical School, with residency and fellowship training in neuroradiology at Harvard Medical School's Brigham and Women's Hospital.
